Submerged into the world of dance, his career began at 11 years of age, with his brother’s (Pedro Avilés) company, GOP Dance group. Michael, one of the first members of the group, shares and supports his brother’s vision to form a dance group that would help the Puerto Rican youth.

Some of the styles of dance that were part of their training were "Funk", "Hip-Hop" and "Modern Dance", although "Hip-Hop” was the most distinguished. Based on these styles, Michael developed "NY Style", emphasizing the strengths within the movement technique of "Hip-Hop”.

Avilés participated in various local and international competitions such as "Hip-Hop International 2011” (Las Vegas, NV), Youth Awards (Premios Juventud), Puerto Rico Miss Universe 2001, Sábado Gigante (Univisión; Miami, FL), “Estrellas del Futuro Reggaeton” in 2005, “Póngale Ritmo” in 2010, amongst others. His career covers 16 years of dancing, 10 years as a teacher and a special participation as a member of "G.O.P. Crew" who represented Puerto Rico in the 3rd installment of the popular MTV program "America's Best Dance Crew".

Currently, Michael is part of 787 Crew, where he has presented in well-renowned shows and competitions such as “Quiero Ser Estrella”, “Hip Hop International” 2011 and ABDC Season 6.

Within his long-term goals, he wants to finish his studies in Sound Engineering at the CCAT institute in Puerto Rico to eventually have his own recording studio.
